USDA News

The USDA is amending the Animal Welfare Regulations to require all licensed and registered facilities to develop and implement a disaster plan.

- Docket No. APHIS 2006-0159 in the Federal Register
- APHIS posts annual reports, inspection reports, and recent AWA enforcement violations for research facilities on their website. Although inspection reports have been available through the Freedom of Information Act for many years, this allows anyone with an internet connection to view inspection reports instantly. Institutions should read the APHIS Appeals Process Factsheet for details on which inspection reports will be posted, when they will be posted, and how to appeal inspection report findings.
